Dear Students,
This is a gentle reminder about the importance of regular and dedicated practice for your musical development. Music, like any other skill, requires consistent effort to improve and progress.
While lessons equip you with the knowledge and foundation, it’s through practice that you truly internalize the concepts, refine your technique, and build your musicality. Regular practice allows you to:
- Master new techniques: Repetition helps muscle memory develop, making playing smoother and more accurate.
- Improve your musicality: Practice allows you to explore different rhythms, dynamics, and phrasing, adding expression and depth to your playing.
- Build confidence: Seeing your progress through consistent practice motivates you and builds confidence in your abilities.
Unfortunately, without consistent and dedicated practice, it becomes challenging to progress and maintain the necessary skills required for continued learning. Therefore, after careful consideration, we will be forced to discontinue music classes for students who consistently neglect their practice commitments.
We understand that there might be challenges in finding dedicated practice time. However, we encourage you to:
- Set realistic goals: Start with short, manageable practice sessions and gradually increase the duration as you get comfortable.
- Create a practice routine: Dedicate specific times each day for focused practice, even if it’s just for 15-20 minutes.
- Make it fun: Choose pieces you enjoy, explore different genres, and experiment with improvisation to keep yourself engaged.
- Please read “Steps to Practice” for in-depth understanding.
Remember, we’re here to support your musical journey. If you face any difficulties with practicing or need guidance, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We’re happy to provide tips and resources to help you overcome challenges and make the most of your learning experience.
Thank you for your understanding and commitment to your musical growth.
Sincerely,
